Gabapentin is often prescribed to treat dogs and cats that are suffering from chronic pain related to cancer, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, allodynia, surgery, and hyperalgesia. It is an inhibitory neurotransmitter known to affect calcium channels in the nervous system, which can lessen the amount of pain perceived by your dog or cat.
When used for seizure control, Gabapentin has anticonvulsant properties making it beneficial for dogs with refractory seizures. It is also used for sedation when traveling or grooming, idiopathic epilepsy, and relief from anxiety. In cats it has been beneficial to treat anxiety related to travel, veterinary visits and examinations.
There are many factors that can cause pain in animals and Gabapentin could be a very useful medication to help treat it. Known to be safe with few side effects, it is made in liquid format for easy delivery to your pet by mouth. Gabapentin has improved the quality of life in dogs with chronic pain conditions and ExpressVet makes it easy and more affordable to help your pet feel good.

Possible Side Effects
Gabapentin is safe for dogs. Side effects can include ataxia (abnormal coordination and movement), mild sedation, and occasional diarrhea. Your veterinarian may start you off on a lower dose and slowly increase it to avoid side effects.
Possible allergic reactions are swelling, itching, hives, or difficulty breathing. If any of the side effects or allergic reactions continue or get worse, contact your pet’s veterinarian right away.
When taking Gabapentin for seizures it is best to slowly wean off the drugs to avoid the risk for seizure withdrawal.
Drug & Food Interactions

Different Flavor or Medicine - Increased Cost
I received a re-order of my cat's Rx and it was a different flavor than the previous order which is not what I thought I was going to receive. The price had greatly increased recently, so it was extra disappointing not to receive what I ordered. I emailed about it and never got a reply. May need to look elsewhere.
Stellar service
It arrived as ordered and on time. It is an efficient and easy to order from pharmacy
Perfect
Formula is just what my size cat needed. He tolerates it very well and best of yet no more pills. Thanks to the Express Vet team!
Additional help for my dog's arthritis pain.
I'm starting Yoda on his second bottle of gabapentin. Giving him liquid meds is a struggle (he bites - hard). But the change in his mobility is noticeable. I'll keep giving him gabapentin to keep him bopping along. Good medication; glad it's a liquid, because there is no way will he take a pill! Thank you!
Will recommend this!
Works perfectly on my boy but he hates the taste notwithstanding I have ordered the chicken & beef flavors.
